J'apprends aujourd'hui le décès de Martine et veux me joindre aux hommages qui lui ont été rendus. J'ai cotoyé Martine dans les années 90 au 15ème étage de la tour TOTAL. A sa famille, à ses amis, toutes mes pensées en souvenir de cette super Nana partie trop tôt.

Our adventurous sunday-outings in Zhanjiang, the chinese fortune teller, our secret fishing operations, the stormy-night-drive back to Stavanger, the punk (you-were-the-star) night, the lazy poolside afternoons in Yangon …. I will keep all these precious moments with me. You are in my heart, and will always be.

Nous sommes profondément attristés par le Décès de Martine. Elle restera dans nos mémoires comme quelqu'un de très acccessible et d'une grande humanité. Toutes nos condoléances à sa famille et ses proches amis.

Martine Valeix m'avait impressionné par sa détermination, ses convictions, son sens de l'intérêt collectif et son courage dans l'épreuve. J'avais beaucoup apprécié de travailler avec elle sur un projet RH concernant TEP Nederland. Toutes mes pensées accompagnent ses proches en ce moment douloureux.

It was with great sadness that I learnt of the death of Martine. I had the pleasure of talking to Martine several times about Myanmar and in general about the challenges of being a woman MD in Total. She was always patient, encouraging, kind, available and ready to give advice. So, on a personal level, I think we have lost a role model.

On behalf of TEPM, where Martine worked from 2004 to 2008, and where she is remembered in particular for her efforts when the terrible hurrican Nargis struck the country and left it devastated, I would like to express our heartfelt condolences to her family.

When I joined Total E&P Nederland I had my final interview with Martine. We had a fantastic click from the start and I was really looking forward to working together with her. Unfortunately not much time was given for this. In the very few contact moments we had over the past year I have come to respect this Grande Dame more and more and it truly hurts that she is no longer with us.

I wish Martine's family and friends all the strenght they need to cope with this big loss.

Très chère Martine,
Nous nous connaissons depuis 1986 avec Bonnie mon épouse qui est l'une de tes plus fidèles amies. Les voyages et déplacements nous ont rassemblés en Chine, puis en Norvège et en Birmanie.
Ta bonne humeur, ton dynamisme, ton professionnalisme et ton efficacité -en particulier dans la gestion de deux grandes crises en Birmanie, associés à ton enthousiasme et ta générosité- ont prouvé à tous qui tu étais: quelqu'un de bien.
Nous sommes tristes aujourd'hui car nous t'avons perdue. Je t'ai accompagnée un peu cet été dans ton dernier combat contre la maladie. Nos enfants, en particulier Claire qui savait t'écouter, sont très affectés.
Nos longues discussions autour de la musique sacrée, en particulier celle de Bach, orienteront toujours nos pensées vers toi, notre amie que nous n'oublions pas.
Repose en paix, chère Martine !
