I feel so deeply blessed to have walked life with you and grateful we found each other as soulmates.
This photo was taken 2 years ago, it was an amazing walk, beautiful nature, sun light. We chatted so much about life, our book, work and everything, we looked at life the same way. Like always we lost track of time and during this walk.. we also got lost, it started to rain .. we smiled, we felt blessed .. as that was us .. as one with nature.
If there is one word that describes you it is LOVE ..
You are a loving, warm, kind, positive, beautiful, wise and enthusiastic person with a big love for all of life, you have touched mine deeply and forever, with me so many hearts, and you have done so much for our beautiful planet.
Not surprisingly this week, internet was overflooded in a wave of love and gratitude of thousands of people from the sustainability community. You made such a huge impact for others and the planet. You are the regeneration, and understood it is about being love and making it practical in acts of love in all circles of your life, the small things like enjoying the sun rays, a gift for someone you love, to transforming a company to become as nature.
Our friendship started in 2017, when I asked you to be interviewed by me for my virtual summit where 30 sustainability leaders were sharing their wisdom. I think you were the longest interview .. You watched all interviews and sent me notes how much you liked them. That is you … always interested to share but also always curious to learn from everyone …
You taught me all about Interface and biomimicry like you did for so many others. And we dived deeper together into regenerative leadership and business.
We had countless calls, me living abroad, you in the Netherlands, with your beloved husband Henk-Jan now and then popping by on the screen, we spent many hours having conversations, both with our nature backgrounds on screen, or walking in nature together and enjoying healthy meals.
We started working and educating together, and coached students on regeneration projects, as we both share a deep love for giving back in education. I invited you in my projects and you invited me, we were weaving things more and more together and always had fun.
About 3 years ago we decided to write a book together on regenerative business …
We had many plans and were looking forward to our regeneration adventures together when the book would be there and I would return from India. You wrote me a card with two birds in May saying “Super to discover together with you regeneration and to spread it into the business world”.
Unfortunately .. life took another turn, your earthly life was taken by storm .. to continue in another form. Our last call where we saw each other, I made you a promise … to finish our book. I will .. for Us, others and for the World.
You sowed so many seeds of regeneration and love in everyone’s heart, sharing your wisdom and joy for life, making positive impact everywhere you went. You gave, freely, as nature, for nature, pollinating as a bee.
Your energy and wisdom will live on and take many forms here on earth. Something tells me, your mission is not over, you are called up there to help in another way, even more zoomed out … than possible here on earth.
