What a friend we had in Ajay, A friend so humble and true
Someone I could confide in and trust in, No matter what, no judgement through.
“Your presence uplifted me” he said, When I visited him as he turned Fifty,
Little did I know, I came out of there more healed than you.
The face that comes to my mind now, Is that of a smiling Ajay
A witty joke following soon, amusing the room.

We juggled through life through pain and gain, Let no opportunity go in vain
Sailed the seas, tweaked the sails, Faced the storms, enjoyed the calm,
Rose the ranks, gained command, On the high seas, ashore, at Office and at Home.

A life lived to the fullest, A path threaded without fear
A mountain climbed without anxiety, Bridges crossed built by kindness,
A race run, raising people along the way
Counting his blessings, naming them one by one

God Bless you Ajay, I said I am already Blessed, Richard, He said
How Blessed was he to be surrounded by his loved ones
In life and in Death,
The grace of the Sacraments and the day of his favourite Saint
While “farewell” to all, he finally bade.

Goodbye Ajay my beautiful flower,
You shone your candle far into the darkness.
Now to become a shining star,
Blessing us from Heaven, until we meet again.
