We are deeply saddened to hear of Cecilia’s passing. Jerry and I first met her in Shanghai in 2013 when Tom was in Preschool with our daughter, Kalin. From the very beginning, Cecilia radiated such warmth, positive energy, and a generous spirit that made everyone around her feel welcome. She had a gift for bringing people together. Whether it was through her beautiful photography, her dedication to sharing the Dutch language and culture such as bringing the cherished tradition of Sinterklaas to our community, she created moments filled with joy and connection.



Cecilia was a devoted member of the Parents and Friends Association (PAFA), where she took an active role in events such as the International Food Fair, Cultural Craft Fair, and Passport Club. When our children were in Preschool and Kindergarten together at SCIS, Cecilia graciously took on the role as room parent, organizing activities, supporting the teachers, and always making sure the children and staff felt celebrated. She had an infectious laugh, a warm smile, and a way of making every gathering feel special.



Cecilia loved the ECE campus, and she poured her heart into making it a joyful place for everyone. At the heart of it all was her love for her children, guiding everything she gave to their school and community. Her kindness and dedication she brought to our Shanghai community will always be remembered with love and gratitude.
